Renée Renouf (also known as Renée Renouf Hall) was born on November 9, 1929 in Sonora, California. She married Richard Hall, June 18, 1955 and divorced November 26, 1963. Renouf has written on dance and cultural subjects for mainstream papers and specialized dance journals, including Pointe and Dance Teacher, since 1960. Her career included among others: dance correspondent for Dance News, New York City, 1962-1983 ; dance and culture critic for Hokubei Mainichi, San Francisco, 1968-1983 ; Asian Week, San Francisco, 1983-1995 ; Secretary, member founding board New Orleans International Ballet Conference, since 1999 ; Member steering committee Bay Area Dancing: A Living Legacy, San Francisco, 2002.
